Comment: Brown trout tend to like minnows or artificials that immitate a minnow. Crankbaits are excellent for larger browns in Virginia. Fly fishermen may want to try their streamers.

Comment: Thompson Dam has them, WATCH OUT FOR THEM, there was one that got away from me back in '07 and he was a biggie...at least 20-25"....my boyfriend could lose his fist in the buggers mouth...fishing out on the little peninsula (that was once a road, 50 yrs ago) is the best place, but mainly on the inside part, out on the tip. if you can't get the trout, you'll definately reel in some LMB's, guaranteed!
